Together Alone · 1997
One year after the release of her debut single, Anouk released her long-awaited debut album Together Alone. When initial plans for Golden Earring to contribute songs fell through due to commitments with their own band, Anouk chose to take full control and began writing the material herself together with her close friend Bart van Veen, completing six songs within just two weeks.
Together Alone became a decisive breakthrough for Anouk outside the Netherlands, driven in part by the success of the single “Nobody’s Wife”. The album found a wide audience in Belgium, Finland, Norway and Sweden, firmly establishing her reputation across Europe.
The album was also released in the United States, although it did not chart there.
