Update & Close Up
Update is a 2004 audio release built around acoustic versions and selected live recordings of Anouk's songs.
The album includes acoustic versions of several then-recent tracks, including material connected to Graduated Fool, alongside live recordings such as It Wasn't Me, Losing My Religion, Michel, Hail and Searching.
Close Up, issued as a DVD with bonus CD, documents Anouk's 2003 live performances with concert footage recorded at festivals and shows in the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
The bonus CD included with Close Up contains the first seven acoustic tracks from Update, linking the two releases closely while keeping them distinct.
The DVD also includes extra material such as a documentary, 2 Meter Sessies performances, a photo gallery and a fans-only/password feature. The access code for that feature could originally be requested through Stichting Fanclub Anouk, which no longer exists.
Together, Update and Close Up reflect two related live formats from the same period: one focused on acoustic audio recordings, the other on concert footage and visual documentation.
