About the single
On 15 July 2005, Jerusalem was released as the third single from Anouk's album Hotel New York, following Girl and Lost. The single was released as a 3-track CD single in a cardboard sleeve. Besides the studio version of Jerusalem, the single includes an acoustic live version of Girl, recorded during the 3FM radio show of Giel Beelen, and a demo version of Lost.
The music video for Jerusalem is very different from Anouk's previous clips. Instead of a regular performance video, it features computer animation, showing Anouk riding a motorcycle.
Despite its striking video, Jerusalem did not become a major hit and failed to reach the Dutch Top 10. The single was also released as a promo CD-R, with the same tracks and identical artwork.
