Anouk is Alive
Anouk Is Alive is a 2006 live release documenting Anouk's concerts at Ahoy in Rotterdam during the Hotel New York tour.
Recorded during four sold-out performances in December 2005, the release captures a large-scale concert production attended by more than 70,000 people.
The 2CD/DVD set combines well-known songs such as Nobody's Wife, R U Kiddin' Me and Michel with newer material from that period.
The show opened with Love, as Anouk walked through the audience toward a central stage hidden behind illustrated drapes using the same flower artwork as the CD and DVD cover.
As the second track began, the drapes dropped and the concert moved into the heavier guitar and drum-driven sound associated with Anouk's live performances.
Reviews highlighted the strength of Anouk's voice, the interaction with the crowd and the carefully filmed concert production, including stage visuals and backstage extras on the DVD.
Often regarded as Anouk's first full live album, Anouk Is Alive became a commercial success as well, with the DVD reaching gold status shortly after release.
