To Get Her Together
To Get Her Together is Anouk's seventh studio album, released in 2011, and presents one of her most danceable and groove-oriented records.
Although several songs refer to the end of her relationship with rapper Dox, Anouk said she wanted to make a happy album rather than a heavy or angry one.
She described the record as the result of a creative peak, using work in the studio to keep herself going during a difficult period.
Musically, the album moves away from a guitar-led rock approach and places more emphasis on beats, keyboards, backing vocals and rhythm-based arrangements.
The album includes What Have You Done, an English-language adaptation of Abel's Dutch number-one hit Onderweg, reworked into a sober Anouk ballad.
With contributions from Tore Johansson, Martin Gjerstad, Ryan Leslie and Reggie 'Syience' Perry, To Get Her Together combines personal lyrics with a polished, beat-driven pop and R&B sound.
