Places to Go
About the single
On 12 September 2014, Places to Go was released as the first single from Anouk's ninth studio album Paradise and Back Again, released two months later on 21 November 2014. Produced by Anouk Teeuwe and Tobias Karlsson, the song was made available on Spotify a day early, on 11 September.
Anouk announced the release herself: "Good morning! Here is my new single 'Places To Go'. I hope you guys will like it! Today available on Spotify, and tomorrow available on iTunes." The accompanying music video features Anouk's fifth child, Sion Jethro, born that year. His birth had drawn attention after prolonged uncertainty during Anouk's pregnancy, at age 39, over the identity of the child's father; it later emerged that basketball player Seraino Dalgliesh was Sion's father, though Anouk was not in a steady relationship with him at the time.
Places to Go reached number 16 in the Dutch Top 40 and number 17 in the Single Top 100, and also picked up a Tip listing in the Belgian Ultratip (Vlaanderen).

My beatin' heart and restless mind in war
My eyes half closed
On my way back home
To a place that no one knows
I travel light
No more starless nights
Makes me shine from head to toe
I got places to go
In this life
I've got places to go
Anytime
What's yours ain't mine anymore
But somehow the roads I travel
They feel like home right now
My eyes half closed
On my way back home
To a place that no one knows
I travel light
No more starless nights
Makes me shine from head to toe
I got places to go
In this life
I've got places to go
Anytime
And if I could have it my way
I'll tell you to stay here always
And I will be waiting for you
And there's nothing else I can do
You've takin' me over
Just hold me now
I stay here all night cause I
Don't feel so alone when you are
Holding me tight love
Ain't my home
Anymore
