About the single
On 4 November 2016, I Just Met A Man was released as the second single from Anouk's album Fake It Till We Die, following Burn.
Anouk announced the release herself: "I highly recommend both the song and the video :-) Featuring the Loves Of My Life." The music video, directed by Marc de Groot and Janneke de Jong, features her entire family; the sweater she wears in it was designed by her children.
Anouk posted the video on Facebook and Instagram on 28 November 2016. Alongside her six children — Benjahmin Kingsley, Elijah Jeremiah, Phoenix Ray, Jesiah Dox, Sion Jethro and Jelizah Rose — it also features her partner, basketball coach Dominique Schemmekes. The family appearance drew attention because Anouk had removed all photos of her children from social media earlier that year after receiving racist comments about them.
I Just Met A Man reached number 18 in the Dutch Tipparade.
