Million Dollar
About the single
On 22 February 2019, Million Dollar was released as a stand-alone digital single, a return to English-language material following the Dutch-language album Wen d'r maar aan (2018).
The song was produced by Thomas Azier, who wrote the music together with Anouk and Isa Azier; Anouk wrote the lyrics. Azier also played most of the instruments on the recording, with Isa Azier on guitar, Andert Tijsma on bass and Daniel von Piekartz on organ.
Million Dollar was released as a digital download only. No physical formats are known, and the release contained just the single track. No music video was shot for the song. The single reached number 34 in the Dutch Top 40, spending 3 weeks on the chart.
In an interview, Anouk explained where the song came from: with the 2019 shows and festival season ahead, she felt she needed a few harder songs to rock on stage, and Million Dollar was the result. She only performed the song live during 2019, and it has never appeared on an album.
