I Love You
About the single
On 3 April 2020, I Love You was released as a stand-alone digital single, written and recorded while Anouk was stranded in Marrakesh after Morocco closed its borders at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
Anouk had been sharing demos with fans on Instagram during her weeks in Marrakesh, and after an overwhelming response she decided to finish one of them together with producer Stephan Boers (credited as Ramiks) and release it. I Love You is not part of the follow-up to Wen d'r maar aan (2018); it was released as a stand-alone, uplifting surprise for her fans during the lockdown.
The artwork was made by Anouk's oldest son, Benjahmin, using photography by Marc de Groot. The lyric video features photography by Anne van Gelder.
I Love You was released as a digital download only. No physical formats are known, and the release contained just the single track. It entered the Dutch Tipparade and reached number 25 in its three weeks on the chart.
