Something Better
About the single
Something Better was released on 31 March 2022 as a digital single, premiering that day on De Coen en Sander Show on Radio 10 before arriving on the streaming services. It was the first preview of the mini-album Trails of Fails, which followed three weeks later.
At the time of the radio premiere the song was only announced as a track from Anouk's upcoming album, with more details promised later. That album turned out to be Trails of Fails, released on 22 April 2022, where Something Better appears as the second track.
The song was immediately named a TopSong by NPO Radio 2 and spent five weeks in the Dutch Tipparade, peaking at number 17.
Like the rest of Trails of Fails, the track was produced by Jim Abbiss, who recorded the music at Livingston Studio in London while Anouk recorded her vocals at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Something Better was released as a digital single only; no physical formats are known. The release was accompanied by an official lyric video.
