A new love, a new record, Anouk hardly sounds bitter on the “divorce" record. When you see the fierce cover photo of For Bitter Or Worse, you expect an angry Anouk. Especially in combination with the title. But the aggressive vocals on hits like Nobody's Wife and Everything are nowhere to be heard on this record. For Bitter Or Worse even sounds remarkably upbeat and airy. The production is based on 60s rock, pop and psychedelia. The Swede Tore Johansson signed for that production. With a lot of percussion, a prominent organ and all kinds of choirs, Johansson creates a lively mix of sounds. The playful production also offers more space for Anouk to showcase her soul and blues influences. The album was already leaked via iTunes Aug. 28, 2009.
